Storm Fall to Hawks, Get Win Over Beavers

HAMPTON — High Plains girls dropped a close one on Thursday to Hampton, 39-34, before bouncing back at St. Edward for a 50-10 win. Carlstrom Hofmann The Hampton game was back-and-forth all night as neither team could put the other away.

High Plains falls to East Butler in holiday tournament

BRAINARD — The first win of the season still eludes the Storm, as High Plains dropped Thursday’s opening round holiday tournament match up with host East Butler, 43-33.

Lady Storm Topple Tigers

BRAINARD — There were four different teams playing in High Plain’s opening round match up with East Butler on Thursday. Something switched in between the first and second quarters for the Storm. They were a completely different team. The same was true about the Tigers.

Huskies Top Storm in Close One at Home

SHELBY — It was a battle for Polk County bragging rights. It started out pretty even with each team putting in a couple baskets to make it 4-4 with 5:18 on the clock for the first timeout.

SHELBY— Shelby-Rising City hosted High Plains in a county battle for the two schools on the outskirts of the county. The girls played first. The first quarter started out close, with the Storm getting seven points and the Huskies just edging them with eight.

Storm Winless After 2 Games to Open Season

FULLERTON — High Plains boys’ basketball team kicked off their season Friday with a home game against Giltner. Unfortunately they came up short, losing 45-34. No stats were available at press time. Ayden Hans Saturday High Plains traveled to Fullerton for their first road game.
