The annual Stromsburg Sweetheart Banquet for couples who have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary will be held February I2th at 5 30 p.m. at the Midwest Covenant Home.
The Lady Vikings took their first round bye and #1 seed into the Central Eight Conference Tournament. Stromsburg advanced to the finals by soundly defeating East Butler 66-48. The Vikes didn’t fare as well in the second game as the Fullerton Warriors defeated them 32-23 and claimed the championship. Dani Clifton scored 16 points, and Papik, Berggren and Alicia Klute all scored eight.

Curt Koesterer assumed the duties of administrator at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Hospital in Osceola Monday, January 13.
On January 31, friends and relatives will honor Nyle Larson at an open house to celebrate Nyle’s retirement from his work at the City of Stromsburg

Arnold Hellbusch and the girls on the Vikings basketball team were pleased as they beat Genoa 60 to 47 in the conference championship game.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wagner will observe their 76th wedding anniversary at the Midwest Covenant Home on February 14th.

Stromsburg defeated St. Edward and Polk this past weekend to up their winning streak to six.
A new sign went up on the First National Bank this past week.
The sign will show passers-by the time and temperature.
Mr and Mrs. Verlin Johnson were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Severt Peterson Jr. and family on Tuesday evening.

A rabbit hunt is scheduled for February 1 at 12 30. The Stromsburg Commercial Club is offering a $5.00 prize for the person bringing in the most rabbits.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold A. Johnson are the parents of a seven-pound two-ounce son born January 26th.
The Twarling Filling Station was broken into and a number of items were taken. Three new tires, two used track tires, one full case of tubes and three cases of anti-freeze were among the stolen items.
