Hudson Prososki brought his uncle, Kyle Prososki, to show and tell in Kindergarten class at Jeffrey Elementary. Kyle is a member of the US Air Force and flies the Apache helicopter.
David Purdham, music teacher at Osceola, brought his junior high students downtown to carol at each of the businesses. They also brought cookies they had made.
The Oquist family had their Christmas on Christmas Eve at Gloria Oquist’s home.
Harold and Marie Jarmin attended the annual Fun Club Christmas Party in York on Tuesday, December 20.

Pictured was Grant Willits of Osceola being a first time donor at the Osceola Bloodmobile last Monday, January 7th.
Bea Brazee celebrated her 105th birthday on January 1st with family and friends at the Osceola Good Samaritan Center.
Marcus Augustin, son of Roger and Sharon Augustin of Osceola, has been selected to attend HOBY this summer. Valerie Nelson, daughter of Daryl and Alane Nel son, has been chosen as alternate.
The Bulldogs were rewarded for their excellent start to the sea son as they moved up to the #3 rating in Class D-l. They then went out and won two more games 71-30 over Ne. Christian and 60-53 over Twin River. Reed Johnston was pictured dunking the ball, one of three times for the night, bringing the home town fans alive.

Steven L. Cherry was sworn in as Polk County Sheriff by Judge Curtis Evans Tuesday morning, December 31 in the courthouse at Osceola at a regular meeting of the Polk County Commissioners.
Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Nelson announce the birth of a daughter, Brittany Bemeitta, born December 31 at York General Hospital.
The second Kids Fun Day, sponsored by the P.E.P. Team, drew more than 60 elementary students to the downtown auditorium January 4. Boys and girls participated in decorating cookies, making milk carton people, wave machines and rigatoni snakes.

The Osceola Public Library has audio cassette tapes which give step by step instructions for completing the 1982 1040 and 1040A income tax forms.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Dunn took a ten day vacation during the holidays and flew to Wilcox, Arizona to visit their son, Douglas.
Jami Schott and Nicole Mentink hosted a skating party for their classmates, the seventh grade, at the Schott farm Sunday afternoon.

Henry Galus was honored last week on his retirement from the Selective Service Board of Polk County. Henry took office August 1, 1948 and had served as chairman since that time.
Specialist 5 Barry Schmoker returned last week to Lincoln where his wife has been attending school during his 13 month tour of duty in Korea with the Missile Command. After a thirty-day leave he will report to Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Dunn and Denise went by plane to Phoenix, Arizona last week for a visit with the Leslie Bottchers, Sid Rutters and Mary Dwyer.

Walter W. Berck has filed as a candidate for the Unicameral Legislature from the 25th dis trict.
Announcement has been made that Lester Gabriel is the winner of a Regent Scholarship to the University of Nebraska. Alternates are Phyllis Carlson, Gary Rodene, Marilyn Oberg and Richard Dunn.
Preliminary planning is underway for the addition of two classrooms to Jeffrey Elementary School. The rooms will be used by sixth grade students, who are presently attending classes in the high school building.
John Pulliam, son of the Jim Pulliams, returned to Fort Hood, Texas January 9th after spending a two week leave with home folks. He works with a crew of U.S. Army weather observers.

District 18 News: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sterup and family of near Shelby were Monday evening din ner guests of the Neal Brighams.
Earl V. (Bub) Wieseman, Raymond Schott and Ben Sokol, the latter of Silver Creek, departed last Thursday for California. They took the southern route, stopping in Dallas for a visit with Ray’s sister, Genevieve.
