Giving Thanks Before A Meal

Why do we give thanks before a meal? Does it become routine to you? I know it does to me. When I was young, we said the same prayer before the meal every day. Now as an adult, we’re teaching our kids to do the same. It’s not the same prayer I prayed, but it is a routine prayer that doesn’t change.

November 4 Blood pressures by the Polk County health department 930 to 11:30 AM November 11 Bunco at 1 PM November 12 Potluck at 11:30 AM with the Catholic ladies serving. Casseroles and desserts will be furnished. You may bring a side dish to complete the meal. All are welcome to attend.

Thanksgiving Meals

The First United Methodist Church of Osceola will once again be preparing Thanksgiving boxes of food to give to members of our community. Our church is dedicated to providing help to friends in need.

Happening at the Library in November Story Hour will be held on Wed. Nov 12 at 4:00. All children between Pre-K and 5th grade are welcome to join us for stories, crafts, treats and fun.Book Club will be Mon. Nov 17 at 5:00. We will be discussing 'Here One Moment' by Liane Moriarty. Please join us!

Osceola residents and those within other Polk County communities may be well pleased by having re-gained that precious morning hour at the end of DST 2025! I also believe most associate “alertness” as being a great contributor to “safety” and that extra hour in the morning can mean so much!
