CCC Receives Significant NSF Grant

Central Community College has received almost $1 million from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The money will help CCC teach mechatronics to working adults and students in adult education programs.Mechatronics is a mix of computers and machines and is often called industrial automation.

Nebraskaland Photo Contest Begins Oct. 1

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will accept submissions for the 2025 Nebraskaland Magazine photo contest starting Oct. 1.Submissions should be made at Magazine.OutdoorNebraska.gov. To be eligible for the contest, photos should be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Central time Oct. 31.

Pedicure Clinics

Pedicure Clinics will be held at the Polk County Health Department the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. Please call the health department to make an appointment.

Work to begin soon on Windmill SRA aquatic habitat project

Aquatic habitat and angler access improvements will be made at Windmill State RecreationArea near Gibbon.Starting the week of Sept. 22, park visitors and anglers can expect some areas to have limited access due to construction. The park will remain open to camping and use of the facilities.
