Why is Hope First?

Hope is the first candle we light at Advent. Why is hope first?Well, without hope, we have nothing. This symbolizes the hope of Jesus’ birth. Hope is the foundation for our belief that Jesus came to the world to save us from sin. Since hope is the foundation, it should be first.

Community Pitches in During Field Fire

Tuesday, November 25th, Osceola Fire and Rescue responded to the report of a field fire at 128th and N Road.The Stromsburg Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at the same time.

Senior Center

December 2 Blood pressures by the Polk County health department from 9:30 to 11:30 AM December 9, no Bunco this month.December 10 Potluck at the Senior Center at 11:30 AM. Hosted by the Lutheran ladies. Casserole and dessert will be provided. You may bring a side dish to complete the meal.

Hunt to Give Presentation in Stromsburg

Stromsburg—Speaker Renae Hunt will present a program “Footprints and Handprints: Days on the Farm in the 19th Century” on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Stromsburg Public Library.
