What a summer we are having with such variance in temperatures and high humidity. It makes it a challenge some days to do the activities we want to do and not risk the health and welfare of our residents. But we choose to do what we believe is best for them overall. It’s what we do.

POLK COUNTY - Next week we will run our back to school insert with all the supplies listed. Most schools also have them posted on their websites and social media if you need to start your shopping earlier. They are also located at some stores, or we can print yours out or email it if needed.

Ryan Pickinpaugh of Columbus was ticketed on five different counts, including terroristic threats and child abuse.Two Class IIIA felonies (sexual abuse of a child, third degree and terrorist threats) could have ramifications of up to 3 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
