Hope Gospel Rescue Mission

The HOPE Gospel Rescue Mission is Christ centered ministry in York. They help the hurting and homeless in the name of Jesus Christ.Most of the summer their beds were full. Even in October, they were at 100% capacity in both the men’s and women’s dorms. Some nights a few men slept on the floor.

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Drop Off

Shoebox Drop-Off for Operation Christmas Child runs next week from November 17th through the 24th.For the 9th year, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola, is the official drop-off center for our area.Shoebox gifts provide God’s love in a tangible way, to children throughout the world.

The Giving Tree

The second annual community Giving Tree is up and running. This is a joint effort among the United Methodist, Salem Lutheran and Evangelical Covenant Churches. The purpose of the Giving Tree is to help parents provide a brighter Christmas for their children.

Tomte Scavenger Hunt for Kids

The Stromsburg Woman’s Club is sponsoring a Tomte Scavenger Hunt for children ages 1-10 on Saturday, November 29th during the Lighting of the Square!The downtown square will contain 30 hidden Tomte ornaments. Children are encouraged to find ONE Tomte placed in a bag with an identifying number.

Remainder of SNAP Benefits Issued to Nebraskans

Lincoln – Friday, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) distributed the remaining balance of November Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to all Nebraska recipients.This disbursement brings households to their full monthly SNAP amount for November.
