LINES ON THE PAGEThere was a song by that name, written in 1936, during the Great Depression, a period of very hard times. I remember my mom only using half a tissue because of the lack she and her family grew up in. The song offered hope.

Senior Center

Activities at Osceola Senior Center for April: Bible study 10:00 am every Friday Pool and coffee every morning. Hope to see you at the center.
The Osceola High School National Honor Society students and their advisor, Mrs. Brandow, volunteered their time on Saturday, April 18 at the Polk County Museum. OCAG

The Osceola Community Action Group will hold their April meeting on Thursday, April 23rd at the Osceola Civic Center at 12:30 p.m. Please join our group to help make Osceola an even better place to live and raise a family!
These two participated at the Nebraska State Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest held in Grand Island. Owen Bise was the 13-year-old State Champ as he made 24-25, missing his 3rd free throw and then making his final 22 in a row. Kaitlyn Baloun shot in the age 11 division and after 25 free throws was tied for second with 3 other participants. After 3 tie breaker shoot offs, she finished 4th. Photos provided.

Gov. Pillen Requests Extension for Wildfire Damage

Governor Jim Pillen is asking officials with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for additional time to submit information relative to damage done to public infrastructure from the Morrill and Cottonwood fires.

The above students from Cross County Community School have been selected to attend American Legion Auxiliary Cornhusker Girls’ State from May 31 to June 6 on the campus of the University of Nebraska--Lincoln through the Stromsburg Auxiliary Unit.
