The scythes are hung on the quonset wall and it is time to think of those binders that took their place in harvesting small grain from farm fields. The museum does not have a binder, and to describe one to someone unfamiliar with them would be a daunting task.

Lincoln — The state of Nebraska has extended a health alert for Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB), also known as toxic blue-green algae, at Cub Creek Lake in Jefferson County.Bluestem Lake in Lancaster County has been removed from the health alert after being on alert last week.

What is cuter than a little spiny hedgehog with its adorable beady eyes and long pointy nose? A hedgehog made from a pinecone! That was our craft project this week. Pinecones are plentiful around Midwest Covenant Home so we created cute little critters from them.
