July Traffic Fatality Toll

Lincoln, Neb. — During the month of July 2026, twenty-one people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.¨       These 21 fatalities occurred in 19 fatal crashes.

OSCEOLA - Sunday on highway 92 near H Blvd there was a car fire. Osceola Fire and Rescue was dispatched there. During the incident a car ignored their traffic stop after waiting approximately 20 minutes.

SHELBY - Thursday morning, Representative Mike Flood visited the Shelby Rural Fire District. Several volunteer firefighters were on hand to meet and talk to him.Chief Jon Eller reported they have 38 members on their roster, but about 15 are considered “active”.

SHELBY - Our local schools are facing what many Nebraska schools are, a decrease in girls wanting to play girls basketball. Club volleyball has become more popular.Shelby-Rising City met in open and public session on Monday night.
