Friday evening each year at Swedish Festival, a Super Swede is named. This year’s recipient was Barbara Lamoree of Stromsburg.

SHELBY - Wednesday evening (June 17th) the board met with NASB (Nebraska Assoc. of School Boards) Shari Becker. She collected seven names and resumes of candidates for the interim superintendent at Shelby-Rising City.She said some of these contacted her, and some she initiated the contact.

Weather Affects Festival Activities

STROMSBURG – It was a Swedish Festival to remember. Friday went off without a hitch, except for an Honorary Swede not being named. This was due to communication and travel difficulties.However, Saturday was a different story. Rain and storms moved in, causing events to be moved or canceled.

2026 Festival King and Queen Crowned

STROMSBURG - Friday evening at Festival, a new king and queen were selected from the crowd. This year’s royalty are King Steve Dubas (selected by his wife, last year’s queen) and Queen Judy Hanson. Their attendants include Erik Hanson (Judy’s grandson), Emmett Klein, Lucy Roberts and Raygen Jensen.

SRC Special Meeting Notice
