Congressman Flood Votes to Reform FISA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Friday, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following a vote on H.R. 7888, the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act. This legislation modifies and temporarily extends the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, also known as FISA, for a period of two years.

CC FCCLA Excels at State Conference

Cross County FCCLA excelled in demonstrating student leadership and service during the Nebraska FCCLA state conference. Cross County FCCLAcame home with 4 national qualifiers, 2 FCS knowledge test medalists, a quiz bowl champion and runner-up, and 3 chapter awards.

Blood Pressure Clinics

Clinics to monitor blood pressure will also be held at the Polk County Health Department in Stromsburg, every 1st and 3rd Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are welcome any day during office hours.

Legion Pancake Feed

The Stromsburg Legion Post #132 would like to invite the community to join them at the Legion on Sunday, April 28th for a pancake feed from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Library News

Do you love to read and love to work with children? We are hiring a Summer Reading Coordinator for this summer! The theme is “Adventure begins at your Library.” Please stop by the library for more details about the position.

Swedish Festival

The April meeting was well attended. There are a few new things being planned so be sure to watch for more information. One of the new things is a sand volleyball tournament on Saturday.This is year for our biennial Swedish smorgasbord. It will be held at the Cross County School again.
