Annie Jeffrey Health Center honored the AJ Volunteers for Volunteer Appreciation Week at Ryan Hill Country Club with a brunch and a program on April 9th. The program featured Sue McLain from Yesterday’s Lady. Her program was called a Century of Fashion.

What does an Activity Aide do with a huge container of buttons? Create various craft projects to use them on. We have done watercolor painting backgrounds then painted bare trees and glued the buttons on to adorn the trees. In the winter we created button mittens and framed them.

The Polk County Health Department will hold immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department, Stromsburg, NE, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, and Monday, May 20, 2024, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Flu shots are available. An appointment is required.

Last week was a busy week for area students. Three state competitions were held: FCCLA, FBLA and Skills USA. Shelby-Rising City and Cross County participated in State FBLA. Cross County School also sent students to State FCCLA and State Skills USA.
