Fire and Rescue Officers Elected

Last week, Shelby Fire & Rescue held one of its annual business meetings. At this meeting the election of officers took place: Gene Schlesinger, President. Jon Eller, Fire Chief. Larry Tworek, Assistant Fire Chief. Alicia Hoadley, Secretary. Chris Whitmore, Treasurer. Denise Humlicek, EMTCaptain.

Shelby Egg Hunt

The Shelby Easter Egg Hunt will be at the Shelby Ball Park on Wednesday, March 27, starting at 6:00 p.m. The Egg Hunt is open to children ages Preschool through 3rd Grade. There will be an opportunity to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Legion Supper

The Shelby Legion Post 296 Soup Supper will be on Sunday ,March 17 at 4:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m. This is a free-will donation. Come out and support the local Veterans and thank a Veteran!

Tornado Siren Testing

Weather Awareness Week will be coming up on March 24-31. The Shelby Fire and Rescue Squad will be doing another siren drill in conjunction with Shelby-Rising City Public Schools on March 25th. There will be another test on Wednesday, March 27th, in conjunction with the state wide siren testing.

Food and beverage service returns to Eugene T. Mahoney State Park later this month when Carl’s at Mahoney opens within Peter Kiewit Lodge. Service will begin March 15-17 with a convenient Grab and Go format, where guests can purchase a variety of to-go food and drink items.

The Kid’s Quest Club will be starting its 6th year at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola. The club is like a combination VBS and AWANA—they meet for six weeks, once a week on Wednesday nights from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The first meeting will be on March 27.
