Pancake Feed

The High Plains Community Storm Track and Field Team will be hosting a Pancake Feed Fundraiser on March 15, located in the junior high gym in Polk. Pancakes, sausage, and juice will be served. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. The track athletes are selling raffle tickets prior to the event.

A Curious Christian Learns About Lent

So what’s all this about Lent? Growing up, my church did not participate in Lent (we do more now). I know basically what it involves, but I’ve lacked the history and tradition that comes with it. Seeing others celebrate Lent made me more curious.

The Polk County Health Department will hold immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department, Stromsburg, NE, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, and Monday, March 18, 2024, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Flu shots are available. An appointment is required.

At approximately 1:15pm Monday Silver Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a possible vegetation fire south of Silver Creek in Northern Polk County. Osceola Fire and Rescue was requested for mutual aid.
