HPC Take Medals at HLHF Invite

The High Plains Speech Team went to the Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family Speech Meet on Saturday the 10th. The Novice team placed 5th overall and the Varsity team placed 8th. McKinley Warnick was the Novice Persuasive Champion. Alyssa Wostrel and Samantha Ertzner were the Novice Duet Champions.

SRC Speech Takes 4th at HLHF Meet

On Saturday the 10th, the Shelby-Rising City Speech Team traveled to the Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family Speech Meet in Lindsay. The team placed 4th overall. Aiden Zimmerman, Gavin Ohnemus, Jorge Chavez, Mackenzie Kunz, and Kreyten Zimmerman were the OID Champions.

Pop tabs can be dropped off at the bank in Gresham for the Ronald McDonald House in Omaha. 2024 Community Calendars are available from the Gresham Community Club at the bank and C-Store. St Peter Lutheran Church will hold Lenten services on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.

Farewell Bjerrum

It is with heavy hearts that the board says goodbye to Sheila Bjerrum as administrator of Stromsburg’s Midwest Covenant Home. Sheila accepted the position of administrator at a very critical point.

Congratulations to Devin Nuttelman for getting district runner- up and qualifying for the state wrestling tournament in Omaha this week for the 2nd straight year! Best of luck to Devin as he wrestles for the gold medal!

Swedish Festival

The first meeting of the Swedish Midsommar Festival was well attended with a lot of good discussion. The dates are set for June 14-16. There are needs for leadership and help in several areas. The chicken/pork BBQ and parade are two places where help is needed and planning needs to start.

Two Parks Running Club Meeting

The Two Parks Running Club will hold their annual meeting on Wednesday, February 21st from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Rose Colored Glass. At this meeting you can learn about the club and sign up for 2024 membership.

NGPC Art Contest

Students in kindergarten through 12th grade can discover the outdoors by participating in the Nebraska Fish Art Contest. The 2024 contest, sponsored by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, Wildlife Forever and Bass Pro Shops, is accepting entries through Feb. 28, 2024. Enter at statefishart.org.
