It was a most unusual punishment. About 10 years ago, a woman named Bettina Young was illegally selling driver’s licenses in Ohio and when she was convicted, Judge Michael Holbrook gave her a fine and put her on probation for a time, but she also got five days in jail…the next five Christmases.

LINCOLN -- The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred 1,172 degrees during commencement exercises Dec. 15 and 16 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The 1,159 graduates are from 48 countries; 39 U.S. states and the District of Columbia; and more than 150 Nebraska communities. Chancellor Rodney D.
