On Sunday, December 10th, the young people of St. Paul Lutheran in Osceola will present “The Christmas Present” by Pam Andrews. This will be during the 10:45 a.m. church service. All are invited to come enjoy the program and hear again that we are all saved through the gift of Jesus.

The Gresham Community Club sponsored Breakfast with Santa on Saturday December 2nd at the Community Center. Approximately 50 children attended to decorate cookies, make an ornament, enjoy juice and doughnuts and visit with Santa. Photos provided.

Polk County News Pastor Brenda Pfeifly of the Salem Lutheran Church is moving on after 15 years in Stromsburg. She said it’s time for Salem to have new leadership and time for her to take on a new challenge. She will be moving “way out west” to Sidney, Nebraska and pastoring a church there.

POLK – High Plains honored three people and a team and inducted them into their Hall of Fame. It’s been two years since the last induction. The ceremony took place Saturday night between junior varsity and varsity basketball games. First up was Roger Merchant.

STROMSBURG – “It’s time,” says Ronal Marsden, owner of Marsden’s Auto Clinic. The shop will close for good on Friday, December 29th after 36-and-ahalf years of operation. Marsden is looking forward to retirement. “It’s a matter of slowing down,” he said.
