Attorney General Mike Hilgers is now fighting prison reform measures he supported not too long ago as a state senator. That’s politics. In the Attorney General ‘s office. Imagine that! Not hard to believe if you’ve been paying attention.

Blood Pressure Clinics

Clinics to monitor blood pressure will also be held each Tuesday of the month. They will be held at the Senior Center and rotate between each town in Polk County.

Pedicure Clinic

Pedicure clinics will be held at the Polk County Health Department the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. Please call the health department at 402-747-2211 to make an appointment.
About 57 kids and guardians attended pumpkin painting at the Stromsburg Library. Pumpkins were provided by Economy Hometown Market and Becky Nielsen. Several participants also brought their own. Lavaley Named One of State’s Believers and Achievers

Each school nominates up to three or four seniors (if four, one must be a minority) for the NSAA Believers and Achievers. The student must have a 3.5 GPA and be active in NSAA activities. Along with these, school involvement and community involvement is also considered.

New Pinnacle Bank ATM in Stromsburg

Although many places aren’t taking cash anymore, ATMs are still very popular and needed. They are becoming more advanced, almost like talking to your teller. Pinnacle Bank Shelby market president Doug Lamoree said he has been looking for a location in Stromsburg for about 10 years.

Halloween Events

Osceola: Sunday October 29th will be Osceola’s Spooktacular. Come trunk or treat around the square from 4-6 PM. Polk: Trunk or Treat will be on Wednesday, October 25th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Shelby: The Shelby Trunk or Treat will be on Saturday, October 28th on Walnut Street.

Donut Shop Will Reopen

Daylight Donuts in Stromsburg will re-open when Pat is released from the doctor. They are sorry they have missed customers and want to get back to the shop.
