Vrbka Wins Week 7

Andy Vrbka was the winner of week 7 only missing 4 games. Five people only missed six, which was Cinda Koinzan, Mark Erhart, Kathy Parminter, Donna Krumbach and Betty Jorgensen.

Nursing Homes Given an Additional Requirement

At the beginning of September, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued new staffing standards for nursing homes and long-term care (LTC) facilities. They want nursing homes to provide safe and quality care for the residents in Medicare and Medicaid-certified LTC facilities.

Bob McLaughlin Benefit

Bob McLaughlin recently went through a spinal surgery due to a narrowing of the spinal column. He is currently recovering and out of work for the foreseeable future. All money raised will go to Bob for his medical expenses, daily living costs and any other needs during his recovery.

QOV Work Day

Stars, Stripes, and Stitches QoV group will be working at the Shelby Legion Post 296 from 9am-3pm on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Please join us for all or part of the day. *This will be our last work day of 2023.

Gabel Inducted into Neb. Horseshoe Hall of Fame

Shelby Trunk or Treat

The Shelby Trunk or Treat will be on Saturday, October 28th on Walnut Street. People can set up their trunks from 2-2:45 PM and trick or treating will be begin at 3 PM. It will continue until 5 PM or until treats are gone. Please contact the library to sign up at 402-527-5181 and to get rules.

September Students of the Month

Senior Ethan Fjell was nominated for his dedication and work ethic. He always gives his best effort. He is polite and has a good attitude. Junior Jordyn Donner was nominated for having a delightful personality in class.

NHS Litter Clean Up

National Honor Society students did litter clean up on Sunday. Pictured is Jordyn Donner, Clare Willis and Katelyn Nekl. It was a great day for Highway 92 clean up.

Pedicure Clinic

Pedicure clinics will be held at the Polk County Health Department the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. Please call the health department at 402-7472211 to make an appointment. October 18: 1:00-3:30 PM
