Willits Family Reunion

There were 28 attendees at the Willits Family Picnic meeting in Buckley Park at Stromsburg on June 28, 2026. The group gathered on the south side of the park.
Newly crowned Swedish Festival King Steve Dubas and Queen Judy Hanson were honored at a public reception at the Rose Colored Glass in Stromsburg on Thursday, June 25. Several past festival kings and queens were there to congratulate the new king and queen. Those hosting the event this year were past kings and queens, Tim Alvis and Sherri Georges along with Ken Everingham and Michelle Dubas. Photo provided.

The 2026 Swedish festival king/queen float will be in the Polk County Fair parade in Osceola on Saturday July 11 starting at 3:00pm at the fairgrounds, traveling uptown around the courthouse and back.

Andy Gabriel was named Sons of the Legion member of the year. He has put forth a lot of effort over the last fiscal year with everything he has done to help out with what we do: the Car Show, our Thanksgiving dinner recipient, along with our finances as our finance officer. Commander Willy has many more praises; these are just a few. Andy has put a lot of time into making sure the little things get done. Photo provided.
