Centennial first day of classes will be Thursday, August 17th, with early dismissal at 1:30. Presbyterian Session and Trustees will meet Sunday, August 20th, following worship services. Monthly Fireman’s meeting will be Monday, August 21st, at 7:30 p.m.

Fees Increase at State Parks

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission approved fee increases for its state park entry permits at its meeting Aug. 4 in Valentine. The fee for the annual permit for Nebraska-licensed vehicles will increase from $30 to $35 and a temporary (daily) permit from $6 to $7 beginning Jan. 1, 2024.

Nebraska National Guard Members Have Gone to Texas

CAPITOL VIEW In May, 10 Nebraska State Patrol troopers went to Texas for two weeks to help with drone surveillance of the border with Mexico. Recently, 60 Nebraska National Guard members went to Texas for a month for a similar assignment. Is this a Nebraska problem?

Birthday Card Shower

The family of Welcome (Willits) Alt request a card shower in honor of her 100th birthday. Welcome was born on August 22, 1923 to Clyde and Ollie Willits. Welcome and Delmar Alt were married in Shelby on October 14, 1947. They were blessed with four girls who were born in St.

CALVARY LUTHERAN CELEBRATES

Calvary Lutheran Church gathered on Sunday to celebrate 150 years as their date of organization was mid-August 1873. Approximately 132 people attended the service and meal which followed.
