A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our Summer Reading Program finale! We had a record high turnout for our program this year, and we had so much fun with you all these past five weeks! CONGRATULATIONS to our top readers!

Benefit for Burritt

Save the date! On August 13th will be a benefit for David Burritt who served Osceola Fire and Rescue and Nebraska Firefighters as a Instructor with the Nebraska Fire Service. Dave is currently battling cancer.

Osceola Booster Club Golf Tournament The Osceola Booster Club golf tournament will be August 19, 2023 at Ryan Hill Country Club. The shot gun start will be at 9:30 a.m. and it’s a 4-person scramble. Sign up at the country club.

The Devaluing of Rural Life – the Nursing Home Crisis

Spatial injustice. This phrase was new to me but was a common lean-to in a thesis I was reading regarding the stigma of rural healthcare. Spatial. Injustice. In these times of fragile feelings and slippery political soapboxes I understand why they used this phrase.
Lexi Clifton (daughter of Trevor and Deidre Clifton of Garfield, Kansas) was named the McCracken Rodeo Princess. The 10-year old has been riding horses since before she could walk. She is active in 4-H and loves to hunt, fish and ride her horses. She is the granddaughter of Patrice Clifton of Benedict and Glenn and Mary Clifton of Stromsburg. Photo provided.
