Benedict Man Gets Probation

YORK – David Dowdy, 45, of Benedict, who was convicted of child abuse, tampering with a witness and strangulation, was sentenced to probation this past week in York County District Court. Dowdy was charged in two separate cases.

Youth Share Jesus in New Orleans

Youth from Polk County, mostly from the Evangelical Free Church, went to New Orleans, Louisiana for a mission trip. There were a couple high schoolers from Osceola, Nebraska Christian and Stromsburg Baptist Church. Approximately 22 people took the trip south.

$100 Shopping Sprees for Grand Prizes The Summer Reading Contest ends Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 1:30p.m. Prizes will be awarded to everyone entering the Summer Reading Contest at The Shelby Community Library. Grand Prize in all three age groups is a $100 Shopping Spree!!!

The Shelby Legion Auxiliary will be held on Tuesday, June 27, at 1:30 p.m. at the Legion Club.

2023-24SRCSchool Calendar Changes

School will begin at 8:10 AM (not 8:30). Doors open and staff reports at 7:45 AM. School day will end at 3:15 for elementary and 3:27 for middle school/high school. Start of the new school year is August 16th for students.

Covenant Home Clips

We have all survived another wonderful Swedish Festival and are back to regular routines, vacations and more. Many are working in their gardens and flowerbeds to keep them going and growing this hot, dry summer.
