Osceola Residents Encouraged to Clean Up

The City of Osceola recently passed an updated Nuisance Ordinance. The South Central Economic Development District, Inc. (SCEDD) has been designated as the Nuisance Officer for the City of Osceola. Beginning this spring, SCEDD will conduct a windshield assessment of properties in Osceola.

Auditor Mike Foley spoke about Marxism doesn’t value the person as a human in need of God. Some examples he gave are abortion, LGBT, and mutilation for transgender. He mentioned that over a decade, polls asking if one identifies as Christian went from 75% down to 63%.
Kale Gustafson of Osceola was chosen by American Legion Post #91 to attend Boys’ State in June. Kale is the son of Mark and Kendra Gustafson of Osceola. He is a junior at Osceola Public Schools and is involved in football, basketball, track, National Honor Society, One-Act, FFA and SWAG.

Osceola Sophomores Explore Careers

On April 26th, 24 sophomores visited 10 businesses for job shadow day. The students job shadowed at the participating business of their choosing from 8:15-11. Following, the students along with members from each business met at Ryan Hill for lunch and a speaker.

In not many years the Stromsburg airport will be forgotten, but two of us probably spent more time out there than anyone else. We buried one of us not long ago; Durward Rystrom. This column is about his collection of airplane hardware. From about 1976 to 1979 we were regularly at the airport.
