Children’s Immunization Clinics

The Polk County Health Department will hold immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department, Osceola, NE, on Wednesday, April 12, from 1:303:30 p.m. and Monday, April 17, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. An appointment is required.

Sign-up for Preschool in Shelby

Shelby-Rising City preschool registration has begun. Requirements include: Official state certified birth certificate, immunization records, be 3-years-old by Aug. 1 for the morning class and be 4-years-old by Aug. 1 for the afternoon class.

National Public Health Week

National Public Health Week is April 3-9. This year’s theme is “Centering and Celebrating Cultures in Health.” This theme highlights that culture shapes our health. This can look different for everyone. The community we are born into affects how we deal with health.

Bringing History to Life

OSCEOLA — History came alive on Thursday and it only cost a quarter. Thursday’s wax museum was the culmination of weeks of preparations and the fifth grade class debuted their characters to the public.

Shelby Fire & Rescue Announces Award Winners

Shelby Fire & Rescue held it’s annual awards night on Sunday. The awards were presented by President Gene Schlesinger, Fire Chief Jon Eller and EMT Captain Denise Humlicek. Jared Whitmore was named Firefighter of the Year. Larry Tworek received the Community Service Award.

AWANA Continues to Teach Kids About Jesus Christ

The Stromsburg AWANA Club is currently in their 42nd year and meets every Wednesday, from 6:30-8:10 p.m. at the Stromsburg Evangelical Free Church, 9th and Main.
