Report from Council: Roads and More

City council met Monday, February 9th. Up for discussion was riding e-bikes, scooters and other related objects on sidewalks and streets. These are not to be ridden or parked on sidewalks in the business district. See the two new ordinances for more information.A construction update was given.

Blood Pressure Clinics

Clinics to monitor blood pressure will also be held at the Polk County Health Department in Stromsburg, every 1st and 3rd Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are welcome any day during office hours.

Swedish Festival

The Swedish Festival Smorgasbord is merging with Taste of Sweden this year.We will remain in the Viking center on the Square. The Taste of Sweden will serve its usual fare Friday from 5 until 9 PM along with a bake sale as usual.

Woman’s Club

The Stromsburg Woman’s Club will meet on February 23 at 2:00 in the Viking Center.We will enjoy the many talents of the Cross County students in the Fine Arts Programs. The hostess is Diane Nielsen and the co-hostess is Merry Hansen. Everyone from the community is invited to join us.
