Soup Supper Set for Sunday in Shelby

SHELBY — Come out to the American Legion Post 296 in Sheby on Sunday for the Soup Supper Fundraiser. Soup and hot dogs will be available along with desserts.Afree will donation will be accepted. Food will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Speech Team Competes at Humphrey Meet

The SRC Speech Team competed at the Humphrey Sweetheart Meet on Saturday. The following are our results. In overall varsity team sweepstakes, SRC placed 4th of 16 teams. In varsity serious prose, Elena Murray placed 3rd andAurora Slusarski was your meet champion.

Everyone is welcome to come out on Valentine's Day to hear the musical performance of Ms. Hyde's music classes for grades 3-5 at Shelby-Rising City Schools. Please arrive at the Shelby Senior Center by 1 p.m. on Feb. 14 for the 1:15 p.m. performance.

CHADRON, NE — Three Chadron State College students and one alum presented at the Sigma Tau Delta High Plains Regional Virtual Conference Oct. 15. The English honor society’s event opened Oct. 14 with an address by Rock Neelly, author of The Salt Fork Stations, followed by an open mic session.
