Incredibly meaningful, in and of itself, Thanksgiving continually instills its unique inspiration throughout the entire holiday season! Having shopped for that Thanksgiving menu also tends to inspire repeat experiences pertaining to all other meals and treats throughout this special time!

OCAG Meeting

The Osceola Community Action Group will hold their November meeting on Thursday, December 1st at the Osceola Civic Center at 12:30 p.m. Due to Thanksgiving, the meeting has been delayed one week. Please join us for the last meeting of 2022 as we finalize plans for Christmas Downtown.

On Thanksgiving day, Gerry and Pam George of rural Gresham and Jan George or York were among the family members celebrating the holiday at the home of Willie and Kylie Holatz and family of Creston.

Lead Poisoning Prevention

Lead is a toxic metal used in many trades and hobbies in the United States. Most adult lead exposures are due to their work or hobby. Lead poisoning happens when small amounts of lead build up in the body. People can breathe in lead dust or fumes or swallow dust while eating, drinking, or smoking.

Polk Senior Center

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. I’m glad we decided at the Brown household to start putting up outside lights and greenery last weekend, since the weather is giving us a taste of winter today. Brrr!

Senior Center

Come celebrate Christmas, Sunday, December 11th, with coffee and doppe at the Viking Center hosted by the Stromsburg Senior Center. Doors open at 2 PM—with a 50-minute program to follow of wit and songs at 2:20 by PruDense.

Library News

The Shelby Community Library is having Santa Claus on Wednesday, December 7th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Don’t forget to bring your camera! This will be a great opportunity to take your Christmas card photos by the fireplace. FREE REFRESHMENTS will be served.
