Osceola Mini Dazzlers Camp

The Osceola Cheer and Dance Team (OCDT) held a Mini Dazzler Camp on October 14th, which was also our PINK OUT game for Breast Cancer Awareness. The OCDT had a busy afternoon with 46 students from preschool through 5th grade signing up to 'get groovy' with the squad.

Cross County FFA Heads to National Convention

Members of the Cross County FFA chapter are heading to the National FFA Convention. The 95th National FFA Convention & Expo takes place Oct. 26-29 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Donna Lindburg Named Fan of the Week

Stromsburg Library Toy Donation Benefits Children

There was a full house last week at the Stromburg Library for the Preschool Story Time. In addition to making a scary spider craft ahead of Halloween, area children were able to play with some of the new toys and play center that was recently donated to the library.

City of Stromsburg Warns of Higher Natural Gas Bills

The City of Stromsburg is cautioning utility customers of the potential for higher natural gas bills this fall and winter as natural gas prices continue to stay significantly higher across the U.S. than previous years. The market price for natural gas in the U.S. has steadily increased since 2020.

FFA Members Receive Their Jackets

Shelby-Rising City recently honored members of the FFA for earning their blue, corduroy jackets. These students are now a part of the organization that dates back to 1928.

Senior Center

Fall has arrived and October is a busy month at the center. We’ve been having a great turn out for our “Healthier You” exercise group led by Sue Daley and Avis Blase. This meets every Monday and Wednesday at 9:30 AM. All are welcome. October 31: County pool at 1:30 PM at Polk.

Osceola UMC to Provide Thanksgiving Meal

The First United Methodist Church of Osceola will once again be preparing Thanksgiving food boxes to give to members of the Osceola community.
