Pedicure clinics will be held at the Polk County Health Department the 1st Wednesday morning and 3rd Wednesday afternoon of every month. Please call the health department at 402-7472211 to make an appointment.

STROMSBURG — Much of Stromsburg turned out for the Midwest Covenant Home’s 75th anniversary celebration. The beautiful weather they had prayed for turned out so people could enjoy a good time. There were snacks of cotton candy and popcorn for free.

Yungdahl’s Apothecary Closing Doors Nov. 4

STROMSBURG — A Stromsburg business will soon close their doors for the final time after being a fixture of the downtown square for the past 25 years. Yungdahl’s Apothecary will stop service to the nursing home on Oct. 27, and their last retail day is Nov. 4.

Thrift Shop Open The Annie Jeffrey Thrift Shop will be open Wednesday to Friday. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donations of slightly used, clean clothing and other house hold items are being accepted during open hours.

Burke Wins Football Contest For Week Six

Lois Burke of Stromsburg is this week’s winner! She only missed one entry, the Maryland-Purdue game. Runner-up also missing one was Jon Recker of Osceola. It came down to the tie breaker with number of touchdowns.
