Polk Senior Center

Greetings from the Polk Senior Center! Doesn’t seem possible that summer is about over, and the children are back in school. Please watch out for them on their way to and from school. Next week the men play pool in Osceola on Monday August 29 and the center will be closed on Labor Day Sept. 5th.

TEN YEARS AGO August 23, 2012 The historic red brick building on the corner of Hawkeye and State was torn down. It was formerly the home of the Osceola Senior Center, and many years ago the office of W. J. Mossholder law, and L. M. Shaw’s office as a physician.

Osceola Utility Rates to be Increased

by Beth Sparrow Co-Owner & Managing Editor Polk County News OSCEOLA — At the last City Council meeting, rates for water, sewer and compactor were discussed. Due to new water tower and new well projects, an increase was suggested by the engineering team. Base rates will go up $7.
