LIBRARY NEWS

Summer reading registrations are now available in the library and on the library website. In addition to our normal July summer reading schedule we have three programs scheduled for June. On June 8th we will have an interactive science show with Dr. Oxygen at 10:30 am.

Register for the 2022 Earl Hedge Byleen Swedish Festival Road Race Soon

Now is the time to sign up for the 2022 Earl Hedge Byleen Swedish Festival Road Race. The race will be held this year on Saturday, June 18 of the Festival at 8:00 a.m. starting at the Stromsburg Fire Hall. The race will feature a 10K, 5K and one mile fun run.

Polk County Foundation Awards Grant

Monday, May 16th the Polk County Foundation awarded education grants at their annual meeting. Receiving one for Cross County School was Adeline Anderson for headphones for her classroom.

What Does the Bible Say About Marriage and Relationships?

Join us on Friday, June 10th at the Stromsburg Baptist Church to hear Bob and Sandy Walz present their Marriage Foundations class. The class will last about an hour, and we will have time for a question and answer session following.

Smorgasbord

The Smorgasbord is back! A buffet of delicious Swedish food in an authentic setting. Saturday, June 18th, 2022 Next month!! Two shifts: 11 AM to noon, or noon to 1 PM. Cost: $20 for adults, $10 for those 7-12 years, kids 6 and under are FREE.

Covenant Home Clips

How grateful we are at Midwest Covenant Home to be able to have The Plaza and Park Villa Residents join us for the various activities and events of the week. Several residents in the nursing home side have commented on how nice it is to have a full chapel for the Sunday services.

Paul and Kelli (Gruber) Gribben, of Fort Collins, Colorado, are the parents of a daughter, Claire Diane Gribben, born on February 7, 2022. She weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces and was 20.25 inches long. Grandparents are Rick and Jnel Gruber of Benedict and Terry and Kathryn Gribben of Bellevue.
