Sacred Heart Guest Night

St. Anne’s Guild of Sacred Heart Church in Shelby is hosting a Guest Night. We’d like to extend an invitation to all ladies in the area. Please join us at 6:30pm on Thursday, June 2 at the Shelby Legion Club for food, fellowship, and a little entertainment. Feel free to bring a friend!

SENIOR CENTER

The Senior Center would like to invite everyone to join us for Lunch. Our hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We have Bingo on the first and third Fridays of the month. We also have Bridge, and game nights. Please come and join us or call for more information at 402-527-5158.

Polk County Foundation Education Grants

Pandorf Graduates Summa Cum Laude from Iowa State

Joshua T. Pandorf Graduates Summa Cum Laude with his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering May 14, 2022 at Iowa State in Ames, Iowa. He has accepted a position at the headquarters of Bobcat in Bismarck, ND. He will start work Mid-June. His Job title is Design Engineer.

TEN YEARS AGO May 24, 2012 Medalists at State Track included the following from Cross County: Lindsay Larson, seventh in the long jump; Sandra Waller, sixth in the shot put; and Parker Anderson, third in the 400 meters, fourth in the 200 meters, and seventh in the 100 meters.

Good Time Had by All at the Svenska Celebration Dinner

Swedish chef Patrik Landberg made the trek from Denver to cook up a wonderful meal for eighty lucky local people. Eighty tickets were sold at $75 each for a fundraising and wonderful meal.

Help Needed

The tradition of flying flags over Memorial weekend has been done for many years. However, there are over 300 flags flown honoring our veterans that take many hands to put them up and then take down. Help is needed startign at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27.

Donelson Reunion

The 103rd Donelson Reunion will be held June 5th, 2022 with social time at 5:30 PM and meal at 6 PM. It will be held at PK’s Revival in Benedict. Reservations are required. Please RSVP to Diana Widga at 402-366-6130 by May 31st. Hope to see you th ere. (4x/5/26)
