Lincoln, NE — A confirmed measles case in Platte County has been reported to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. The patient is an unvaccinated child with an out-of-state travel history in Arizona. Due to privacy, no further individual information will be provided.

LINCOLN -- The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred 1,197 degrees during commencement exercises Dec. 19 and 20 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.The 1,175 graduates are from 44 countries, 39 U.S. states and 140-plus Nebraska communities.Chancellor Rodney D. Bennett presided over the ceremonies.

Doane Fall Dean’s List

CRETE - A total of 372 Doane University students made the university’s Fall 2025 Dean’s List. To make the Dean’s List, undergraduate students enrolled on the university’s Crete campus must earn a grade point average of 3.70 or higher in at least 12 graded credits during the semester.

Central Community College Holds Fifth Winter Commencement

COLUMBUS – Central Community College held its fifth all-college winter commencement ceremony on Dec. 12. A record 398 candidates were eligible to graduate and 88 took part in the ceremony. Collectively, 450 degrees and diplomas were awarded.

Shelby-RC Turns Down Baseball Co-Op

SHELBY – At an open and public meeting on Monday, Shelby-Rising City discussed a possible co-op for baseball with Twin River/Osceola. This would start with the 2026 spring season if approved by January 1st.
