Darrell Clark Bolton, age 89 of Benedict, NE died Thursday, September 10, 2026 in York, NE. He was born November 25, 1936 at Benedict to Carl and Viola (Farley) Bolton. On February 18, 1967 he was married to Karen Meyer in Queens Village, New York.
Darrell served in the Army National Guard from 1960-1964 where he drove trucks. Darrell was a former member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Benedict, was a longtime board member of both Benedict’s Pleasant Hill Cemetery and Benedict’s Rural Fire Department. He always enjoyed having coffee with the local men at Co-op and PK’s. Darrell never missed a chance to be at his children and grandchildren’s activities all of whom he was very proud of. He was always involved in 4-H and enjoyed watching basketball and football in his free time.
He is survived by his sons, Randy (Tricia) Bolton of Osceola, IA, Craig (Dawana) Bolton of Benedict, Brad (Amy) Bolton of Omaha, NE and Mark (Sarah) Bolton of Hordville, NE.
His grandchildren include Emma (Timber) Kent of Des Moines, IA, Colby (Cori) Bolton of Benedict, Lyndsey Bolton also of Benedict, Christian Bolton, Eli Bolton both of Omaha and Trevor Bolton of Hordville.Also surviving is a nephew Tim (Maryann) Bolton of Doniphan, NE and a sister-inlaw Christine Elder of Athens, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife Karen, brother Maurice and granddaughter Ally Bolton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm Monday, September 21st 2026 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Wayne Nester officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery northwest of Benedict. Visitation will be from 1-8:00 pm on Sunday, September 20, 2026 with his family greeting friends from 6:00-7:30 pm at Metz Mortuary in York, NE.
