The Lady Cougars took the long drive to Superior to face the Lady Wildcats. The first quarter seemed fairly evenly matched with Cross County putting up 6 points to Superior’s 8. The second quarter the Lady Wildcats fought hard, putting in 4 baskets and one 3-pointer to the Lady Cougars 6 points, consisting of 3 free throws and a 3-pointer by Lilly Peterson. The score at the half was 12- 19, Superior’s lead.
The third quarter was a pretty even match-up with the Lady Cougars putting in three 3-pointers, two from Shyanne Anderson and the other from Taylor Lindburg. They also made a basket and a couple free throws to make 13 points. Shayla Meyer of the Lady Wildcats had a great quarter, putting in eight of their 14 points. The last quarter the Lady Cougars were outscored by 8 points and just couldn’t put up the win this time. The Lady Wildcats were just too tough, and Cross County had 20 turnovers during the game.
High scorers for Cross County were Lilly Peterson with 11, Josi Noble with 8, and Shyanne Anderson with 7. Senior Meyer from Superior just couldn’t be stopped and put up 23 of their 51 points. Final score was 51- 35 for Superior’s win. A tough loss for the Lady Cougars.
