The word Forsakringsbolaget translates to insurance company. Omsesidiga means mutual. The others seemed to be a closer match to English.
Scandinavian Mutual Insurance was started March 26, 1887 with the first meeting of the company. Prior to that some men organized at meetings in 1886 to plan the company. The constitution and by-laws were adopted March 26, 1887. These first documents were in Swedish, and in fact, Swedish was used until 1933.
