The Osceola FFA Alumni held their annual consignment auction. Jordan Lassek was pictured as auctioneer.
Calvin Coffin of Osceola set up a unique photo shoot of three Husker-detailed vehicles: a helicopter, semi-truck and trailer, and a Hummer. He coordinated the professional photo shoot near his home place.
Jennifer Stanton, PA-C began practicing medicine at Annie Jeffrey Family Medicine in Osceola and at Prairie Creek Family Medicine in Stromsburg.

Thanks to the generous donation of funds to the city of Osceola from the Lucy Holm estate, a new archway has been placed in her honor at the entrance of the Osceola ballfield.The archway was built by Michael “Woody” Woodard and Dan Alt of Unlimited Welding in Stromsburg.
On a rainy night in Henderson, the Bulldogs fell to the 6th rated Huskies 14-7. Gordie Coffin led the rushers with 16 carries for 50 yards.
The Osceola Lady Bulldogs finished up a very long and successful week by capturing their own invitational. They went 4-2 for the week. Pictured was Shayla Retzlaff spiking the volleyball over a Titan opponent at the Osceola Invitational on Saturday.
THIRTY YEARS AGO September 17, 1992
Paul Larson, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Larson of Osceola, competed in the shooting and tomahawk competitions at the United Nebraska Muzzle Loaders Association state games held September 5 in Cairo.
The Arapahoe Warriors handed the Osceola Bulldogs football team their second straight loss of the season with a score of 35-6 at Adams Central Field in Hastings.
Gail A. Channer of Columbus, became the bride of David C. Burritt of Osceola on August 29th in an outdoor wedding in Belgrade.
FORTY YEARS AGO September 23, 1982
Jean Peterson, math teacher at Osceola High School, will be honored this week for originating the OHS Homecoming celebration 40 years ago.
Nancy Chu from the Nebraska Library Commission in Lincoln presented a workshop for young mothers and babysitters at the Osceola Public Library Friday afternoon Her topic was “Will You Read Me a Story”?, a program about sharing books with young children.
Joyce Page, Wyn Hill and Pat Thayer arrived home Saturday night after spending two weeks with relatives in Spokane, Seattle and Vancouver in Washington and at Victoria, British Columbia.
FIFTY YEARS AGO September 21, 1972
The Osceola Bulldogs turned back arch rival Stromsburg in a 20-16 thriller here Friday night.
Dana Boden, son of the Howard Bodens of Osceola is among the 69 Midland Lutheran College students named to the internationally traveled Midland Choir, directed by Eugene B. Nelson, associate professor of music.
An even dozen men and women from Osceola and Clarks graduated Tuesday evening, September J2th from a 72-hour emergency medical training course. The twelve received their certificates following a final meeting held at Annie Jeffrey Hospital.

Filling the vacancy of postal clerk at the post office created by the retirement of Guy F. Ball is Al Rommers.
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Lewis took his mother, Mrs. A.W. Lewis, to Cozad Sunday morning to spend time with her sons and their families, Ansel in Sidney and Laurel in Boulder, Colorado.
Actual work on the Retirement Village Care Home is in the final stages of construction, with completion of the structure due to be completed within a week or so. Installation of the boilers for heat and hot water is being done with plumbing also being rushed .
SEVENTY YEARS AGO September 18, 1952
New members of the school faculty this year are Kenneth Smyers, principal of the high school and Jo Anne Bolton, the new kindergarten teacher.
In preparation for a new meat curing department at the Osceola Locker, Fred Bond and Sons are building an addition on the west side of the cutting room.
Bob Mickey, son of Mr. and Mrs John Mickey, has completed his submarine schooling at new London, Conn, and is now stationed at Key West, Florida.
EIGHTY YEARS AGO September 24, 1942
Miss Mary Ruth Rhodes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Rhodes of Osceola, who has been doing research work at the Massachusetts Reformatory for Women the past three months, has been awarded a scholarship to Simmons College, a girls’ finishing school at Boston, where she will receive her master’s degree in social science in June.
The first game of the 1942 football season started Friday for Osceola when the Bulldogs played Gibbon, tying them 6 to 6. Osceola’s first team played the whole game without any substitutions, making ten first downs to Gibbon’s two.
Mr. and Mrs. Hollie Grossnicklaus and family were visitors on Thursday of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Berggren and daughter south of Shelby.
