As you may have noticed, Prairie Winds, the 2.3 mW wind turbine southwest of Osceola, hasn’t been operating for the last month. This was due to a pitch bearing for one of the blades that had failed. Over the next week, the repairs will be made by lowering the blades to the ground, replacing the bad bearings, and then reinstalling the blades. PCRPPD buys the output from this wind turbine but does not own and is not responsible for this unit’s repairs and maintenance.
