Clifford Donald Ray Jr.

Clifford Donald Ray Jr., age 72, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, passed away March 10, 2023 at his home in Stromsburg under hospice care.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Stromsburg Cemetery.

Clifford was born March 2, 1951 to Clifford Donald Sr. and Maude Lucille (Buerstetta) Ray in Joplin, MO. He attended school in Missouri. He was a truck driver for the US Postal Service and an antique dealer. He retired in 1988 after becoming disabled.

On March 23, 1996 he was united in marriage to Florence Kay Hessheimer in York, Nebraska.

Clifford was a volunteer at the food bank and enjoyed painting, ceramics, collecting marbles, Hot Wheels, Coca-Cola items, and antiques. He also enjoyed reading, watching westerns, camping, fishing and he loved animals.

Survivors include his wife Florence of Stromsburg; daughter Lisa (Troy) England of Lincoln, son Kaleb Joshua Ray of Omaha, daughter Donna Lynn Roddam of Texas and son Clifford Donald Ray III of Texas; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Francis of York, Donna Jackson of Lincoln, Margaret Abbot of Lincoln, Jane Dominquez of Lincoln and Mary Kinney of Lincoln; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son; great grandson; aunts and uncles.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
