My name is Dennis Koinzan and I live in Stromsburg. Just read about the 81 project going through Stromsburg.
1. An expressway is to accommodate more traffic.
2. Safer for people to travel. 3. Faster and easier travel. Plus many more reasons.
Now can you imagine coming off a four lane highway breaking down from a four lane highway to a three lane road going through a town that has it's main street connected to this road. The post office right next to this mess. Older people (like me) trying to miss these vehicles that are now coming in more often (increased traffic) than in the past. Wow what a mess. They will have to build the bridge south of town larger to accommodate the traffic, whether it's a 3 lane or a 4 lane highway. This could be a mess trying to get the traffic down to the 3 lanes that would go through town. Osceola and Shelby are a little different going through town. Shelby residents probably would not like yard space taken from them. I can think of a lot of common sense things that would be against this happening. Just how many people really stop in Stromsburg to spend money in town. A few, I know, but how many accidents are going to happen if big trucks come rolling through town? Who’s going to slow them down. I thought we had enough money from the infrastructure bill that would cover this project. I also can't see roundabouts used by the school or by the 92-81 crossings. Accidents waiting to happen. Why should we be the towns that would be different from the Hebron's, McCools, Geneva’s?
Use your heads for the sake of people lives.
