Graduation

This is graduation week for Polk County. Once again, I try to cover four graduations on the same day and get all the graduates in next week’s paper. Thanks to some wonderful yearbook sponsors and school staff, I will make it happen. It brings me back to my own graduations.

Grads & Moms

Every year I get an email or see a TV commercial that advertises Grads and Dads. This has long confused me as most graduations I have known take place in May. I have never attended a graduation in June. I have attended graduations in May, August and December but never June or even heard of any then.

Age and Leadership

I’m concerned about a trend I’m seeing. A lot of people are saying that you can be too old to be president. At one level, I think it’s just a lazy way to say they don’t like a particular official or candidate.
