We’re in a bit of a pickle at our newspapers. Both our employees at the Nance County Journal quit. We had one applicant, who we hired, and that doesn’t look like it’s going to work out. We are now two people running two newspapers.
We will try to be in both offices as much as possible.

I was out at a track meet last week taking pictures and someone asked me if I was the online nerd.
Apparently there is someone who has similar glasses as me who goes to track meets around Nebraska and takes pictures.

The Legislature’s Appropriations Committee has signed off on providing the funds to build a $366 million prison in the Lincoln-Omaha area just as the Department of Corrections brings on a new director who appears to favor programming and investing in the humanity of the incarcerated.

This week the special senior sketch section comes out. Last year I enjoyed typing these. Since I didn’t have a co-worker, I had my teenage son proofread them. He is a county spelling bee champion, so I figured he could proofread. He enjoyed seeing how many skydivers there were.
