ALAN SPARROW One way you know election day is coming soon is by how many political phone calls we get. I can’t believe how many calls come in from the party I’m registered with. It has become very annoying. I still want to continue to encourage everyone to vote this November.

BETH’S BITS So my husband told me he was going to encourage people to answer the polling calls when they happen. I don’t disagree exactly, but I don’t like to talk on the phone. I’m not sure I ever have. I will do it, but if it can be a text or an email, that’s better.

Expect New Faces in the 2023 Legislature

Plan on at least 14 new faces in the 2023 Legislature, thanks mostly to term limits. Eleven state senators term-limit out at the end of this year. Two quit after one session, Tim Gragert and Steve Lathrop.

One Chip Challenge

Sunday night I took the One Chip Challenge by Paqui. My daughter recorded the first four minutes of my adventure. The chip comes in a box shaped like a coffin and is made with Carolina reaper and scorpion peppers. The challenge is to eat the chip and then not eat or drink anything for an hour.
