Back to School Already?

We’re almost ready to turn the calendar to August which means one thing, back to school. I remember going back to school around the 20th of August, give or take a day or two. Now they go back a week earlier. My Canadian inlaws go back AFTER Labor Day. Even college starts before Labor Day here.

BETH’S BITSI was talking to a 4-H mom at fair. I asked her if this was any easier to watch than the sport her kid played. She said no, and gave me a reason. She said this is “one and done” and at least in sports, you have many chances, so if you screw up once, you can do better next time.

ALAN’S ANECDOTESI did something incredibly nerdy over the weekend. I updated my car’s software. My neighbors must have thought I was crazy. I downloaded the update for about fifteen minutes. Then I parked in my driveway and ran the car for thirty minutes while the software installed.
