BETH’S BITSHappy End of May! We made it through Memorial Day and have just a few days left. I made it through my birthday. I had a great day off shopping with my family and eating a nice lunch in Grand Island. Each member of my family needed a pair of shoes, and most of us found one.

ALAN’S ANECDOTESLast Saturday I got to take advantage of the “Free Fishing and Park Entry Day.” I learned about it right here in the newspaper. While my wife and son were covering the state track event in Omaha, I took my daughter and my youngest sister’s family fishing at a friend’s pond.

BETH’S BITSState track is over, and boy am I glad. Not that I don’t enjoy it, I do. I love taking pictures of Polk County kids. It wore me out this year. Last year I probably started with 100% energy and it wore me out. This year I probably started each day with about 85%, so I wore out sooner.
