Toys, candy and snacks are a big deal when you are a kid. While toys have certainly evolved over time, from stuffed dolls to gaming consoles, candy and snacks are still pretty similar in appearance.

A Victory for Veterans

Last week, I heard the story of a veteran trying to use his GI benefits and attend school. After retiring from service, this veteran, who requires the use of a service dog, decided to enroll at a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) school.

Charlie always makes me laugh. My 5-year-old son tries very hard to tell me jokes. Some are funny. Some make absolutely no sense. But I always laugh. His jokes are getting better. You can at least see his little brain trying to come up with a punch line.

ALAN’S ANECDOTES In our last parent teacher conference, I found out that our oldest would be reading “The Lord of the Flies” by William Golding. I was also interested in reading it, so I ordered the audio book. He’s just a few chapters in and I’ve just about listened to it a second time.
