Superbowl commercials left me scratching my head

The Superbowl has come and gone, and if I am honest, the commercials left a lot to be desired. Sure, you had some good ones. But there was not really any one commercial that left me laughing like they have in previous years. I always love when the E-Trade Baby makes an appearance.

NEBRASKA SENATOR President Joe Biden claims he needs new legislation to secure our southern border. That’s just not true. President Trump brought border crossings to a 45year low. He used the same laws currently available to Biden. Biden is just playing politics and refusing to do his job.

Four of the eight bills I introduced this session had hearings this week. I previously shared information about one of those bills, LB875, which would prevent alcohol from being sold less than cost with certain exceptions related to the age of the product.

ALAN’S ANECDOTES Statistically, slow drivers cause more accidents and speeders cause more deaths. Setting speed limits slower saves lives. Maybe the Federal Highway Administration should set the national maximum speed limit to thirty miles per hour.

BETH’S BITS Two instances this weekend, our Polk County students were recognized for good sportsmanship. This is a characteristic not always regarded by students, or adults. In fact, when one student (also my son) received an award for sportsmanship, he said “the one that doesn’t mean anything”.
