Falling Back and Stomach Flu

BETH’S BITS Is anyone still tired after falling back? I look forward to the falling back time change but not the springing forward. Springing forward seems too early in the year and falling back too late. I was ready to fall back a week or two ago.

What’s Your Version of Truth?

This weekend I wore my Purdue shirt on Saturday. I grew up in Indiana and even went to Purdue for a little over a year before transferring. My little sister was a toddler at the time, probably not a lot older than her youngest child’s age is now.

Veterans’ Day

This next week is Veterans’s Day when we recognize and honor those who have served their country in the US Armed Forces. Veterans’ Day remembers all veterans, while Memorial Day is just for those who have passed away in military service. If you are a veteran reading this, thank you for your service.

BETH’S BITS Halloween is this week. It’s not my favorite holiday. I like candy, but don’t like being scared. I don’t watch scary movies, or read scary books. Mysteries is as close as I get, like “Murder, She Wrote” but it’s not really that scary.

Moral Equivalence

ALAN’S ANECDOTES A few weeks ago I was researching for my column and saw a statement at the bottom of a news article. The news agency wanted to make it clear that there was no “moral equivalence” between their positions and those they disagree with.
